Exit the Mundane & Enter the Curious
SOMBRA LOUNGE
BRAND DESIGN CONCEPT:
Sombra is a Mexican-inspired eatery and lounge in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, created for the curious, the daring, and anyone ready to make an ordinary night a little more interesting.
We had the honor of naming and branding Sombra from the ground up—literally. Meaning “shadow” in Spanish, the name inspired a brand rooted in mystery, discovery, and the thrill of the unexpected.
The identity comes to life through dark, moody interiors, eclectic details, and an enigmatic logo inspired by the restaurant’s Mexican roots. At its center is a serpent—a prominent figure in Mexican and Spanish heritage—intertwined with sun and moon imagery that reinforces the meaning behind the name. The result is a visual system that feels seductive, symbolic, and just a little dangerous.
